Naming a new company is a fun but stressful endeavor. It’s a bit like naming your child. You have ideas that on first go seem great, only to find out that it’s too common, mean something less desirable in your parent’s or in-laws country language, sounds silly with your last name attached to it etc. In the same way, not only your company name has to legally be unique in the industry and location you are registering (that’s the easy part) but then you need to find an available domain name because… internet.
I won’t take you through the whole process – wasn’t too long to be honest – but will tell you a bit of why this name, Delta T Partners was chosen.
First of all, we wanted a name that conveys as directly as possible, the core of our business; Digital Transformation. I am originally from Greece and I often think in two languages at the same time when I want to be creative. The initial D from Digital corresponds to the letter delta (Δ or δ) in the Greek alphabet. In English δ is used in scientific notation to denote change, most often over time, which is denoted by t or T. Hmmm… now we are getting somewhere!
Digital Transformation is not a project. It is a process that requires change. Change in the way we think about operations, customer success, measurement, goals etc. And that change takes time to happen and bear fruit. So it seemed very appropriate and relevant to us to use these letters to not only signify the core of our business, Digital Transformation, but also what that stands for; a change to your business over time, in order to become more efficient, more competitive, better positioned to be successful today and in the future.
And Partners? We the owners, are a partnership of two dedicated individuals with complementary skills and perspectives but, more importantly, we see ourselves and our company as your Partners on this amazing Digital Transformation journey.
